Introduction
Many terms and notions of common usage in the context of public administration are not defined in standard dictionaries. In view of this fact, L’Observatoire de l’administration publique has, with the financial support of the Inukshuk fund, worked on producing a dictionary to define words that present particularities of meaning in this sector.
Intended for students, practitioners, researchers and all who have an interest in public administration, the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Public Administration brings together the definitions of more than 74 terms or notions and is available online, free of charge, in both French and English.
For this project, L’Observatoire drew on the participation of 55 researchers and practitioners from Quebec, Canada, France, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
The terms or notions appearing in this dictionary were selected and grouped together in relation to 11 fields of public administration:
- Administrative Reforms
- Organization Management
- Services Management
- Human Resources Management
- Financial Resources Management
- Information Resources Management
|
- Governance, Ethics and Accountability
- Public Policy
- Local and Regional Governance
- State-owned Enterprises
- International and Intergovernmental Relations
